Deployment Day #9

dinner

While making dinner I had this conversation with my four year old.

“Daddy’s going to die.”

“Who told you that?”

“Big sister.”

“That’s not true, he’s not going to die.”

“Yes he is, he’s going to fight a war and die.”

Deployment sucks.

My husband has been deployed to the Middle East for 274 days.  These are my real thoughts expressing my heart during his absence.  I appreciate your prayers and kind words as we cope, adapt, and carry on without him until August 2014.  To read from the beginning, click here.

  1. Oh honey.

Sending a big hug – wish I were close enough to bring you a glass of wine and take your kids to the movies for the afternoon.

Prayers for his safety, and your sanity

    1. Thank you! I’m sure it will get better.

  2. My husband was in Afghanistan when our youngest three girls were in kindergarten, and one of the little boys in their class told them that same thing during their Veteran’s Day festivities that year! It was awful. Praying that things will settle down and smooth out for you all very soon!

  3. This is so heartbreaking. We are praying for your family!
